Can I get a custom size mattress or bed made to any size
The sizes available differ depending on which type of mattress you want. Memory foam mattresses are the most flexible as the blocks of foam can be cut to pretty much any size. Unfortunately, however, not all manufacturers offer this service. Sprung mattresses are usually increased or decreased in size by removing rows of springs from a mattress. Due to this custom sized beds with springs are usually increased or decreased by the dimension of a springs width. On average this is 75cm (3″).
Are custom size mattresses expensive?
Custom size mattresses and beds are usually a little more expensive than standard sizes due to the production time assigned to them. This means they can be a little more expensive than the standard sizes. This, of course, all depends on which manufacturer is providing service.
Custom size bed bases usually cause very little problems. The only limitations you may have depends on the kind of storage you want (you may lose space for drawers etc.) or whether you want a sprung base (same issues apply as a sprung mattress).
