About the Mattress:

The Vienna Ortho Mattress contains a layer of centre tied pocket springs. Nestled in a honeycomb pattern, the pockets are then tied with linen cord, allowing each individual pocket to move independently. Featuring a range of high grade, quality fillings such as Lambs Wool for the softest feel. Keeping you warm at night and cool in the summer. Cotton is also used which is exceptionally breathable yet highly absorbent, cotton also helps control body temperature through its moisture-wicking properties. With added anti-allergenic fibres underneath the mattress cover, creating a dust-free and sterilised layer ideal for allergy suffers. A layer of resilient foam is also added for a supportive surface feel. As the name suggests the Vienna Ortho Mattress is an orthopaedic mattress that is generally preferred by those wanting a firmer feel. Consisting of 1000 Pocket springs,  the Vienna Ortho manages to provide ultimate support whilst contouring perfectly to your body and minimising movement transferred through the mattress caused by sleeping partners.

  • Pocket Springs – Individual springs are wrapped in a fabric pocket and then glued or stitched together. By connecting the fabric pockets together but not the individual springs, it allows for free movement of the springs. This free movement of springs allows for complete tailored support for each sleeper with no motion transfer and is often considered a superior spring system. Each pressure point is supported and your weight evenly distributed as each pocket spring contours to your shape offering unrivalled support and comfort.
  • Lambswool – Since lambswool comes from young sheep, it is the softest wool that will ever come from the sheep since it comes from the sheep’s first shearing. It’s extremely downy and soft to the touch. As well as this, lambswool shares many of the same traits as regular wool such as it being breathable, while also being a natural insulator; naturally hypoallergenic and resistant to dust mites & naturally water repellent and moisture-wicking.
  • Cotton – A durable material yet soft to the touch and highly absorbent allowing for great moisture wicking keeping you cool and dry whilst sleeping especially on hot nights.
  • Fibre – Fibre is a man-made filling of polyester strands full of air, once you lay onto the  mattress the strands will compress and the air filling expels giving you a much more ‘sink-into’ feeling than foam.
  • Foam –  A great filling that offers comfort in various tension depending on the foam as well as pressure relief. Foam is a common filling often used with varying types and support to give you a comfortable and sleeping surface.
  • Turnable – This mattress must be regularly turned over or flipped over so both sides receive equal use and settlement this will extend the life of the mattress. You should also rotate your mattress from head to toe especially on large sizes like king and super king to avoid heavy condensing of any fillings in one place.
  • Hand Side Stitching – Often used on quality pocket spring mattresses, a cord is passed through multiple entry points along the side of the mattress securing the pocket springs the mattress border. This technique means no bulging will occur and no metal rod will be needed to secure the springs as this can limit the movement of the springs. Multiple rows of side stitching can be used depending on the size and quality of the mattress. This is a difficult technique done by hand and improves edge to edge support.
  • Hand Tufted – Fabric tufts are evenly distributed along the mattress surface, tufts hold the inner loose fillings in position. These fabric tufts help prolong the mattress’s life, making sure loose fillings don’t clump together or shift around.
  • 8 Year Guarantee – The item purchased will be fixed or replaced free of charge during the period quoted on the guarantee when purchased. This means if you buy a new bed and a month down the line it somehow ends up with a broken drawer this will be replaced or fixed free of charge by the manufacturer.

Been looking for a firmer bed for a while now. Found this from the video review on youtube, called and spoke to Prestige, bought it, love it.

  2. Mr C Griffin

After 3 years of uncomfortably warm nights, I finally decided to go with the vienna ortho and my only regret Is I didn’t purchase It sooner. Incredibly comfortable and the perfect temperature to sleep on compared to every other mattress I’ve had. no more sleepless nights for me.
